Römhild is a small and old town in the south of thuringia located right in the middle of germany. It is famous for its long-time pottery tradition. Since 7000 years making ceramics is a traditional guild craft. The Linaer Pottery Culture were one of the first permanent rurally settlers in western europe. They brought the knowledge of making ceramics to this area. In Römhild you can visit the celtic oppidum Steinsburg, which is the largest archeological landmark in northern germany. Today Römhild is famous for the international ceramic symposium and the beautiful historically distinct german landscape grabfeld.
